I speak on modern web development, Drupal, technical leadership, testing, delivery practices, and practical AI adoption.
My talks are designed to be clear, practical, and grounded in how teams actually work. I care less about hype and more about giving people ideas they can use right away.
Whether I’m speaking to developers, team leads, strategists, or cross-functional web teams, my goal is to make complex topics easier to understand and more useful in practice.
If you’re interested in having me speak at your event, facilitate a session, or participate in a panel, feel free to reach out.

Mike Miles is a technical leader, public speaker, and longtime contributor to the open-source web community. He has worked in web engineering since 2003, building and leading digital platforms, guiding development teams, and helping organizations create more sustainable and effective ways of working.
He currently serves as the Director of Web Development at MIT Sloan, where he leads the development, maintenance, and growth of the school’s public digital properties, as well as the team that supports them. Before moving into higher education, Mike spent much of his career in agency environments, leading technical work across client engagements and helping teams translate complex needs into practical, scalable solutions.
Mike has been speaking at conferences for more than a decade, delivering sessions on web development, Drupal, technical leadership, testing, delivery quality, and the responsible use of AI in development workflows. His presentations are known for being practical, experience-driven, and grounded in the realities of how teams actually build and maintain digital products.
From 2016 to 2020, Mike hosted the Developing Up podcast, a show focused on the non-technical side of being a developer. Through conversations on communication, leadership, burnout, and professional growth, the podcast reflected a broader theme that continues throughout his work: strong technical outcomes depend on strong people, strong habits, and strong teams.
Within the Drupal community, Mike has been a longtime speaker, organizer, and emcee. He led the Boston Drupal Meetup for many years, has been part of the organizing team for New England Drupal Camp since 2016, and has played a leading role in shaping and hosting higher education programming at both NEDCamp and DrupalCon North America.
